Port Pillows Available at Bobbins and Boards
As a quilter, you are always looking for someone or something to donate to. Recently a group of quilters and friends from Janesville, Wisconsin came across a need for port pillows. I had no idea what these were or what they were used for. They are placed near a port that has been placed for chemo or dialysis treatment while wearing a seatbelt so it won’t rub.

Fresh Conversations at Vinton Public Library
Fresh Conversations provided by Iowa State University Extension are scheduled to be held on July 14 and August 11 and September 8 at the Vinton Public Library. The event will begin at 11:00Fresh Conversations is a FREE nutrition and physical education program for ages 60+. Peer Recovery Zone July Schedule
Events for the Peer Recovery Zone are held at 800 D Ave. at the Social Service Building on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. You are welcome to come and go throughout the day or stay all day if you'd like. Bring a snack and/or drink, participants must be 18 years or older. Peer Support Centers help to create a safe, caring and inclusive safe space where adults can connect with others who share similar life experiences.

Marijuana use in Benton County Juniors hits 10%

direction to get help when there is a problem. Talking to teenagers about substance use can be
difficult, but it’s a conversation worth having. Right now, marijuana use and vaping are
becoming popular among teens.
In Benton County, 10% of the 11th graders reported using marijuana.

families and federal lawmakers. Coinciding with the Children’s Hospital Association’s 2022
Speak Now for Kids Family Advocacy Week, June 12 to 14, patient families across the country
met with federal representatives.
